My name is Wayne Funk and I am happy to introduce myself to you as the Principal of Westmount School. This will be my 10th year as Principal at Westmount and I also work in an administrative role with two other schools in Strathmore. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1990 and my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Calgary in 2010. I love watching sports (especially the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox and Saskatchewan Roughriders) and watching my 2 kids play sports. My son, Caleb is a first year Bachelor of Arts student at UBCO in Kelowna and plays volleyball for the Heat in the Canada West Conference. My daughter, Natalie is just entering grade 10 and plays high level hockey and fastball. She is also looking forward to playing basketball and volleyball at Strathmore High School. My wife Mona, teaches grade 1 at Brentwood School in Strathmore and we spend a lot of our free time driving to watch our kids play sports! A little known fact about me is that I have seen major league baseball games in 16 out of the 30 major league stadiums around North America. I try and get to a new stadium or two every year.
