Teachers - 1A
Teaching has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up I would turn any room into a classroom and any piece of paper into a pop quiz. My little sister was always my loyal student. I always loved the idea of being a teacher and working with kids—how lucky that I get to do it for a living! My grandparents, Art and Marg Eeles, were teachers in Strathmore. My grandma taught grade one and grade five here at Westmount. It was a dream of mine to teach in the same elementary school as my grandma, and here I am teaching in the exact same classroom she taught in! Pretty amazing!
I love teaching grade one. I love the growth I see in each student from September to June. I love the determination they have. I love the looks on their faces when they learn something new. It is truly special to see the world through a six-year-old’s eyes. I learn as much from them as they learn from me!
I have two beautiful children who I am learning from as well: Jayden is seven and Mary is one. They definitely keep me on my toes and fill my world with so much joy. My husband, children and I enjoy going for walks, watching movies (with lots of popcorn), and hanging out in our backyard.
