Teachers - 3A
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher. Isn’t it great when your dreams come true?
It all began, my life - not my dream, growing up on a farm in Wainwright, Alberta. After graduation, I attended U of A in the Faculty of Education. I completed my degree in 1995 and started my career in northern Alberta. I taught for five years in Grimshaw teaching Grade Six and Grade Three while I was there. While teaching there, I also had the very good fortune to meet my husband. In 2000, he and I moved to Strathmore, and I have been teaching at Westmount ever since. While at Westmount, I have taught Grade 4, Music, Grade Six, and Grade Three.
I am presently teaching Grade Three and truly love it! I love being in a job where every day is the same but totally different. I love that the days (and the years) fly by and I feel like I am learning as much as the kids!
Speaking of learning a lot from kids, my sons, Matthew and Cameron, have been two of the greatest teachers I know. Matthew is now 16 and is in Grade 11. Cam is 14 and in Grade 9.
Even though it seems like life gets crazy busy, I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, cheering on the Oilers, and gardening.
